这些特点使得铜管在寒冷地区的应用很具优势。严寒地区早晚温差大，普通管材的线形膨胀系数大且强度低，很易产生因热胀冷缩产生的应力疲劳破裂。有的号称-20度不脆，但其实不能承受工作压力，并且使用寿命很短，不具备实际意义，虽然可以采用保温措施，但在运输、保管及安装过程遭遇低温是难以避免的，而铜管的性能在-183度与常温时是相同的。
铜管卫生健康
铜管则没有塑料管的各种改性剂、助剂、添加剂等化学成分。
生物学研究表明：供水中的大肠杆菌在铜管道内不能再继续繁殖；99%以上的水中细菌在进入铜管道5个小时后被彻底杀灭。
铜管组织结构很其致密，具有不可渗透性。无论是油脂、细菌、病毒、氧气和紫外线等有害物质都不能穿过它而污染水质。
此外，铜管不含化学添加成分，不会燃烧释放有毒的气体使人窒息。铜的再生利用有利于环境保护，是可持续发展的绿色建材。
